Build a Bear

Neal thought I was crazy, but I wanted to go to Build a Bear to make the babies their first stuffed animals. I have never seen him so embarrassed. Especially when we had to do some sort of ritual with the stuffed animals heart. We got our girl a bunny and our boy a dog. The bunny is named Thumper after my childhood rabbit, which was more like the size of a small dog and the dog is named Tippy. Neal's first dog was named Tippy as was my mom's , so as far as I am concerned it is a family name. I got proof of this event. Here is a pic of Neal hitting the pedal to stuff the animals.

Man does he look like he is enjoying himself. Of course we were too cheap to pay for outfits for the stuffed animals. Stuffed animals did not have clothes when I was a kid anyways!

I must look pregnant

Last week was the first time a stranger actually mentioned my condition to me. Being a woman, you know better than to ask unless you are 100% sure. I am no longer at the pregnant or fat stage of the game. Come on, you have all played it. Your waitress comes over with a protruding belly and once she walks away the game begins.... pregnant or not. It is good to be out of that stage.

Sorry Brit Brit!

23 weeks

I have started supplementing with Boost. I have been feeling low energy and I think it is due to not enough calories or nutritious food and too much vomiting. I am only getting sick about once or twice a week now, but I am sick the entire day. It takes me two days to recover from that. So far, two days of Boost and I am feeling pretty good and starting to venture away from my toast, pizza, garlic bread diet and pudding cake. I have added grape fruit, mandarine oranges and girl scout cookies. Healthy, I know! Those seem to be the foods that guarantee me a decent day. Prior to pregnancy I had cravings all day every day and could barely stop eating. Now that I am pregnant I wake up dreading eating because I do not want to feel or get sick. Strange!

So here is the belly.....

I know, you can be honest. I already look as big as a house! It is growing at an exponential rate. I think it is getting to the stage where by big butt is starting to look deceptively smaller. Not small, just smaller. I swear I wake up in the morning and look down in shock. Apparently the babies are happy with the carbs I am eating. Let's be honest, who would not be happy with an all carb diet! I am up about 16 pounds. We have another ultrasound on Friday. My Cleveland shower is this weekend. And to think my mom and sister were worried I would not be showing for the shower!

You are expecting?

When people make this comment with the question mark I begin to wonder. If you are not sure, don't ask. The conversation I want to have:

Evil woman: You are expecting?
Me: Expecting what?
Evil woman: A baby?
Me: No, just drink too much beer, when are you expecting?

I am losing my belly button

It is going away a tiny bit every day. I did not think that would happen for at least another month or two..................

22 weeks

I had a quick appointment yesterday, probably 4 minutes. So far, my cervix is holding up and the babies hearts are beating around 150 beats per minute. Our baby boy was still kicking away at my cervix. I have an ultrasound next Friday and another appointment in 2 weeks. I will be seeing the doctor quite frequently from here on out. My belly is continuing to expand.

I have learned that salads are a no go with my stomach. I wish I would have known that before we attended a formal event this weekend. Unfortunately I had to run out a couple of times during the presentation. Worst part is the last time, there was someone else in there. I am used to this, it happens frequently, however this woman wanted to hang out and chat. First was the are you ok..... my response is always, yes, I am pregnant (I do not want people to think it is the food they just ate). Then she continued to ask when and how frequently I get sick. All while I am getting sick. At this point my routine is to splash water all over my face and gargle in the sink. Well, I could not do that with the lady watching me, not to mention I had a dress on. So ladies, if you are in the bathroom and someone is puking, the best way to help is to leave!
