29 weeks

So you probably don't want to see my naked belly, but you have no choice now. I should take a picture of my belly button. I have been bothering Neal with it for some time. If I laugh it looks like a little mouth laughing too. I know, we have too much time on our hands.



The heat is hard on a pregnant woman! I have never been so hot in my life. You know what that means, more popsicles and air conditioning. I developed a new food craving this week, bananas. Not a bad craving until Kroger only has really green bananas.

This weekend was my shower. Mom, Stac, Les and Patty went all out. Leslie made my favorite, chocolate covered strawberries. Mom and Stac put together the cutest cupcakes decorated as a baby with a pacifier. Not only were they good, but they tasted terrific! Patty made favors including her amazing sugar cookies and Kothe twins magnets (one in blue and one in pink) to use for baby pictures on the fridge. Patty also crocheted me the two most beautiful blankets I have ever seen. I sure wish I had the patience and talent to do that. I received a ton of gifts. Again, people were so generous. There were a lot of young moms at the shower so they really know what I need. I certainly have no idea! I now have my bedding from Leslie so I can finish up the nursery. Neal's work is throwing us a shower on Friday. How spoiled are we!! Here are some pictures from Saturday.

Sunday we went downtown to see the Clippers play in the new stadium. It was a really nice ballpark. After having a lemonaid and ice cream to try to cool me down, I decided 3 innings was enough. It was a hot one.

I passed!!! Thank god I can still eat my popsicles. They are about the only craving I have. Thank you pancreas.

PEACE OUT

I never thought this would happen, but here I am 28 weeks pregnant and I think this is my best week yet. Maybe because my cold is gone, maybe because I am no longer vomiting, maybe it is the large number of pillows I take to bed with me, whatever it is I don't care. Both babies continue to kick, although not always as strong. My baby girl is confused and thinks she should be exiting my esophogus, so every once in a while I need to give her a little nudge down.

Last weekend we took our final class on birthing. Yes, some things were disturbing. The most disturbing thing was Neal throwing up the peace sign and hanging his head low when I introduced him. (Sorry dear, you put every embarrassing thing about me on your blog) Surprisingly he did not look awkward like the guy below, but looked like he had been throwing up the symbol his whole life. Next time you see him, feel free to say "PEACE".



Neal and I have been really having some good laughs together (peace sign and all), which after 13 years together and being 28 weeks pregnant, is fairly impressive. After all of these years and growing from a teenager to a 30 year old, I can say I married the right man for me. Hopefully we can remember to have those laughs when the babies are here, I am a milking factory and we have not slept in days.

This weekend, baby shower in Columbus. I am really anxious to start getting things organized as I fear someday I will be immobile! I am also a planner if you did not know that. I plan way too far in advance. We have had space in our house cleared out for the babies for 2 months now just waiting for swings, play pens and everything else we can use an an extra arm.

28 weeks

Things have been going good. I had a nasty cold which made sleeping difficult, but I am over that now, so I am looking forward to a sleepy week. I had an appointment today. Babies look good. Our boy is weighing in at 2 pounds 5 ounces and our girl still bigger at 2 pounds 8 ounces. He is still kicking her in the head. If things stay as they are now, we will most likely have to have a c-section. I would prefer not to have one, but probably will not have much of a choice. Every doctor I have asked has not been overly confident in turning the second baby. I am not quite sure I want to go through a vaginal birth followed immediately by a c-section. I had some lower back pains pop up, which made me nervous, but doc says everything is good. It is difficult knowing what is normal and what is not with so many things happening at once.

Our goal is 36 weeks. Doctor claims the average for twins is 36-37 weeks, so middle of June is what we are looking at. We have been really lucky in that I have not had any major problems up until this point. My cervix is nice and long. Don't get me wrong, heartburn and vomiting are not fun, but all worth it. My back is beginning to take on more weight than it is used to, but hey, what did I expect?

The babies are really moving a lot now. So much that Neal actually got creeped out by it! They move a lot more at night now and especially when I eat. I think last night our little boy was playing the drums on my side. He had a good steady beat going. I believe he has his mothers natural musical ability. I am not sure how long he lasted as I fell asleep. Pretty soon I think I could lay a book on my belly and their kicks would knock it off!

This week........
During this week, the brain continues its rapid growth, and the lungs continue to grow. Eyelids begin to open, and the retinas begin to form. The baby will grow over 1/2 inch this week and will be about 1 1/3 feet long (from crown of head to the toes or 9.6 inches from crown to rump)!


Hard to believe I have 2 living things weighing about 2 pounds each and over a foot long inside my belly! Next ultrasound is Monday, I cannot wait! Other than being sick with a cold the last weeks have been the best part of my pregnancy. I hope this continues for a while longer. I have learned I need to move/ roll much slower now. Birthing class on Sunday, that is surely going to freak the both of us out.

MISERABLE

And it is all Neal's fault! He gave me this terrible cold. I have not been this sick in over 10 years. All of the time I was in and out of OSU hospital and not getting proper sleep or nutrition and I never got sick once. Throw 20 pounds on my belly and decrease my social activity to zero and I catch everything under the sun. Ok, I am done complaining. No picture this week. No one would be able to look past my rudolph nose to see my belly. Besides, I don't think I grew at all this week. I need to look at my diet, I have not gained any weight in a while.




I made the move to my own room this week. I toss and turn a lot and go to the bathroom so much that I figured it would be best for everyone. I am not the most desirable woman at this point in my pregnancy anyways. Not to mention the fact that I am typically wide awake at 2am and wanting to watch tv. It takes an hour before my second dose of benadryl kicks in. My kids are going to come out very sleepy. Anyways, I wonder how Neal and I ever fit in this full size bed with two dogs. I felt like I was going to fall out. We must have really been in love.
