Dash for Donation

The babies got me up early on Saturday morning to attend their first 5k. It was a warm morning. The babies did great. They managed to complete their first 5k and sleep the entire time. Now if that is not multitasking, I don't know what is. We had a great turnout as always!

Changes since the babies

One thing I did not anticipate is the changes the babies have made in my family. My mom, sister and I have been spending a lot of time together. I did not think it was possible, but we are now closer than we were before. They are both head over heals in love with the babies. My sister comes over frequently wanting to feed, change and admire the babies. She is absolutely great with them. Mom is over a lot too and dives right in and does anything for the babies and for Neal and I. I am very lucky to have their support especially with all that has happened in the last month. Who would have thought the FR could get closer than they already are!

Two babies, two personalities

Gwen is such a lady and Grady is such a man. Gwen eats slow and is so gentle. Grady eats fast and grunts a lot. Grady is pretty laid back. Both seem to be ok with baths, although the second one to get a bath gets stuck hitting the cold tub from the first. They are both still smiling, but not sure what makes them smile. Grady breathes loud and you can hardly hear Gwen breathe. In the middle of the night Neal has to wake Gwen to make sure she is ok. Gwen likes her pacifier at night and Grady prefers the white noise machine. Grady makes every noise first before he cries. He is very patient. Gwen cries right away when she wants something. Grady is in 0-3 month clothes and has been for a while. Gwen can just barely fit into her newborn stuff. Both babies love to lay on their backs and do the crawl stroke constantly. They will both be excellent swimmers. Both babies are perfect.

6 weeks

Gwen is weighing in at eight and a half pounds. Grady is weighing about nine and a half pounds. This is just a guess with me standing on the scale with them. Gwen has a much longer torso than her brother. Both babies have been very good. Very rarely do they have meltdowns at the same time, let alone at all. They are starting to go 4 hour stretches at night. It is not consistent, but we will get there. Wednesday we are moving into a rental house until ours is completed. Total damage on our house was $110,000. I am hoping to get the babies in a crib Wednesday night, they might even be moved to their own room! We will see.
